New Delhi: India's win in New Zealand on Tuesday has earned them praise from legend Glenn McGrath who told CNN-IBN in an exclusive interview that he is impressed with the balance of the Indian team.
Speaking to Nishant Arora, CNN-IBN's associate cricket editor, McGrath also heaped praises on pace bowler Zaheer Khan.
Glenn McGrath: They know how to win and how to turn those tight situations around. As we have mentioned before, with Gambhir and Sehwag - two classy openers, Dravid's got lot of experience, Tendulkar's one of the best players of all time, Dhoni's doing an exceptional job captaining the side, and you've got your bowlers doing the work. Harbhajan Singh adds that agression to the side, and everyone in the side is doing their part and they are playing well and they are a very formidable side.
Nishant Arora: You've also seen Zaheer Khan over the years. In the past we were seeing that he was breaking down on very crucial junctures, but now we see a transformed Zaheer Khan. What do you think he has changed in his bowling. As a fast bowler, you can understand his psyche and the new aspect of his bowling.
McGrath: Obviously, he's doing an amazing job at the moment. I think the experience that he's got now is what it's all about and he knows his game very well; he knows himself very well. Whether he's got physically stronger or whether it's his mental attitude he's changed slightly, he's not worried anymore and he knows what he has to do. He's another class bowler. Left-armer, swings the ball very well and picked up five wickets the other day. It's more the mental approach to the game that changes for someone when they stop getting injured and also when they start performing better as well.
